Jobs Program...for those needing jobs...and companies needing workers!
Folks:
This is a GREAT program, being run by the Tri-Valley Community Foundation. $8 to $10 million dollars in economic stimulus funds are coming to the Tri-Valley.
People out of work or under-employed, who are residents of Alameda County, can find jobs! Companies in need of new workers can hire them for 6 months, with the federal government picking up 80% of the pay and taxes. Talk about win-win!
Call the Tri-Valley Community Foundation or check their website at www.TVCFoundation.or...
Two people were shot tonight during a robbery attempt at a jewelry store on Danville Blvd., in Alamo tonight. No the kind of crime we usually see in the San Ramon Valley. The Contra Costa times is also reporting the suspect may have been shot, too.
WARNING: If you are coming to the Danville Library today, prepare for LOTS of distracting noise!
The library's alarm system-- the one that goes off if you try to leave without propoerly checking out a book-- is malfunctioning. It has been sounding every minute or so-- and even more often-- since 10 O'clock this morning when the library opened. I have been here 4 hours now, working on my dossertation. This is TORTURE! LOL! But I must forge ahead and get my project done!
"The Peasant and The Pear" annual holiday customer appreciation party tonight, Mon. Nov. 16 at 267 Hartz Ave., Danville. Benefits Food Bank!
Come to the Peasant in Danville, 5 to 9 p.m. for free appetizers and wine. Admission is canned goods or non-perishable foods for the Contra Costa/Food Bank, or you can give cash or check donations! Help feed the hungry!
Danville has a NEW sidewalk! Sure, it may be a small thing, but its a BIG safety issue!
For years it was like the missing tooth along Syacmore Valley Road. There was no stretch of sidewalk between Old Orchard Dr. and Freitas Rd. Often, that meant walking along a busy, 45 mph stretch of Sycamore Valley Road, which can be dangerous! Thanks to the Town Council and others, we now have a beautiful paved sidewalk, just north of the creek
Remember a singer by the name of Lanisa Keith! WOW what a voice. She sang at the Veterans Day event in Danville today!
All of the Veterans are to commended for the GREAT tribute today at San Ramon Valley High School. May God Bless Gold Star Mom Beverly Balsley, who lost her son Michael, on January 25, 2007. She was ther today to aceept a flag from a grateful nation.
