The iHub program is designed to spur economic recovery and growth by showcasing and supporting California's most promising hubs of innovation. Gov. Schwarzenegger’s Office held a budget briefing call today to discuss specifics of Jobs Initiatives included in the Budget Proposal.

Labor Secretary Bradshaw presented the following details -
Jobs program is a $500 million package
Package includes -
  • Tax credit for close to 100% if cost of hiring a new employee for one year
  • Funding for customized training for the unemployed or underemployed
  • $3,000 tax credit for hiring an unemployed worker

The Governor's Office projects that the jobs package will lead to -
  • 140,000 employees getting better paid jobs
  • 100,000 new jobs
